John McAfee the creator of McFee’s antivirus software has been found dead in a prison cell in Barcelona, Spain.
He was held in Brians 2 prison in Sant Esteve de Sesrovires when guards found him dead and were unable to resuscitate him local newspaper confirmed.
According to the El Dario newspaper in a statement released, everything points to suicide as the cause of death. Authorities are still investigating to determine the cause of death.
John McAfee was awaiting extradition to the US where he was charged with tax evasion and fraud-related issues by the Department of Justice.
He was arrested by the Spanish National Police at El Prat airport in 202 as he tried to flee to Turkey.
His extradition was recently approved by the Spanish National Court as requested by the American judicial authorities.
